Sony is about to release the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for May 2024. Headlined by the returning Red Dead Redemption 2, the upcoming PS Plus Extra and Premium titles will be available to download and play from around midday BST UK time on May 21. A grand total of ten PS4 and PS5 games will join PlayStation Plus Extra as part of the May refresh, while a further three classic games will be available for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. Disappointingly, however, there are a whopping 35 games leaving PlayStation Plus Extra on May 21, followed by another three games in June. This includes seven Final Fantasy games, including Final Fantasy 15 and the PSOne and PS2 era entries.
In addition to Red Dead Redemption 2, the PlayStation Plus Extra line-up will include Deceive Inc, The Sims 4: City Living, Crime Boss: Rockay City and The Settlers: New Allies.
That’s on top of Stranded: Alien Dawn, Cat Quest, Cat Quest 2, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame and the returning Watch Dogs.
Premium subscribers can also play classic PSOne games 2Xtreme, G-police and Worms Pinball.
It’s not the strongest selection of games, and not on par with the recently announced Xbox Game Pass line-up.
The May Game Pass line-up includes the day-one release of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Soulslike Lords of the Fallen, indie hit Chants of Sennaar and EA Sports NHL 24.
That’s on top of Immortals of Aveum, Galacticare, Hauntii, Moving Out 2, Firework and Rolling Hills.
Games leaving PS Plus Extra on May 21 include Horizon Zero Dawn, Darksiders, Wreckfest and Abzu.
That’s on top of the aforementioned Final Fantasy 15, World of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy X HD Remastered, X-2 HD Remastered, Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered and Final Fantasy IX.
That’s on top of Elex 2, Wreckfest, MX vs ATV, Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning, Adr1ft, How to Survive 2, The Artful Escape, Ashen, Last Stop, I Am Dead and Absolver.
Other games joining the service include My Friend Pedro, The Messenger, Jotun Valhalla Edition, Sundered Eldritch Edition, This is the Police and This is the Police 2.
Finally, Monster Jam Steel Titans 2, Minit and Observation will also leave PS Plus on May 21.
