PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are counting down to the release of the new games for April 2024. The next wave of PS Plus Extra and Premium games will be available to download and play from April 16. While there’s no official release time, the PS4 and PS5 games should be playable from around 10am BST UK time. The April line-up is headlined by brand new release Dave the Diver, which has already proven to be a smash hit on PC, scoring a massive 90% on Metacritic. The game tasks players with diving for fish and other treasures during the day, all the while running a sushi restaurant at night. It will be joined by Ubisoft open-world racing game The Crew 2, which lets players speed across the United States in cars, boats and planes. Other PS Plus Extra games include Oddballers, Construction Simulator, Raji: An Ancient Epic, LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame, Nour: Play with your Food, Deliver Us Mars, LEGO Marvel Avengers, Miasma Chronicles and Stray Blade.
In a break from tradition, additional PS Plus Extra games will be available in the coming weeks.
This includes stylish platform game Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, which joins the service on April 23.
“Embark on a poignant single-player story shaped by actor Abubakar Salim’s own experience with grief, discovering how love gives us the courage to press on after devastating loss,” reads the official description.
“Wield powers from the Sun and the Moon to defeat restless spirits in rhythmic combat and become a worthy Nganga: a spiritual healer.
“Discover a rich universe with untold lore of chaos & order and journey through mystical 2.5D realms awash with colour and depth, emboldened by multi-award-winning composer Nainita Desai’s enchanting original score.”
Another brand new game is coming to PS Plus Extra in the coming weeks, as Animal Well joins PS Plus on May 9.
The pixelated Metroidvania is said to take place in a stylised world that’s absolutely chock-full of secrets.
“Hatch from your flower and spelunk through the beautiful and sometimes haunting world of Animal Well, a pixelated wonder rendered in intricate audio and visual detail,” reads the official description.
“Encounter lively creatures small and large, helpful and ominous as you discover unconventional upgrades and unravel the well’s secrets. This is a truly unique experience that can make you laugh in fear, surprise, or delight.”
The PS Plus Premium line-up, meanwhile, features Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire and the PSOne version of MediEvil.
Of course, it’s not all good news because multiple games will also be leaving PlayStation Plus Extra on April 16.
This includes Bassmaster Fishing 2022, Chicken Police – Paint It RED, Dangerous Golf, Everspace, Fighting EX Layer, Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, Gunvolt Chronicles Luminous Avenger IX, Necromunda: Underhive Wars, Reel Fishing: Road Trip Adventure, R-Type Final 2 and SoulCalibur 6.
