It’s a conundrum few of us will ever have to grapple with, but on a visit to Rome to celebrate the jewellery brand’s 140th birthday, Priyanka Chopra’s new shorter haircut was the perfect partner to her glittering neckline.

With her hair cut into a choppy bob, Chopra swapped her lengths for a voluminous, gently tousled look. Not only did the cut—which sat a couple of inches above her shoulders—ensure all eyes were on the show-stopping jewellery, it also felt natural and lived-in, with plenty of root lift and movement. Priyanka’s hair looked undone and effortless: the perfect juxtaposition to what Bulgari says is the most precious piece it’s ever crafted.
Chopra is not the most experimental of stars when it comes to her hair; although she did try out ultra-long mermaid locks, both tousled and straight, last year. But she rarely opts for anything shorter than shoulder length. However, the new style suits her: Cut to elongate her face, and paired with fresh, dewy make-up, it was the perfect au naturel beauty supporting act, to ensure her jewels (and her striking features) remained front and centre. For the rest of us? Well, a bob is a nice way to elevate the décolletage—diamonds or no diamonds.
