A Scottish earring brand has made a new pair of earrings dedicated to the Princess of Wales after she wore one of their pieces for a poignant cause and helped them raise thousands for a charity.
Ear Sass debuted “The Catherine” – a pair of small glass beaded hoops – just last Monday before they were sold out in under two hours.
The earrings are 14k gold or silver plated with 925 sterling silver and are nickel and lead-free. They have glass beads and come at a very affordable price tag of just £27.
The business owner, Sophie McGown, said on the website: “We wanted to honour HRH Princess Catherine with her very own pair of Earsass.
“We are so grateful for how she has helped us to raise thousands for Bravemind through wearing our Issy Star earrings and we will be eternally grateful.”
Maxwell Stone, of Steven Stone, said: “There’s no denying that Kate Middleton is a style icon and we always look forward to seeing what jewellery she’s flaunting – whether it’s from the Royal vault or one of her favourite high street brands.
“Kate made a particularly touching tribute with her jewellery for World Mental Health Day in 2023 by wearing a pair of 18k gold-plated star earrings that were gifted to her by Sarah Renton.
“Made by Issy’s cousin Sophie McGown, who runs the jewellery brand EAR SASS, the design of the earrings is incredibly symbolic as, since ancient times, stars have been associated with forever, hope, destiny, heaven and freedom. The brand gave £5 from each pair sold to Brave Mind and have since made thousands for the charity.”
The expert added: “Gold or silver plated, the [new] small glass beaded hoops [the Catherine] are unique, beautifully elegant and timeless – just like the Princess. They’re available for just £27.”
