Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s travel plans announced

Prince Harry is set to return to the UK in a week, however, his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and their two children will not make the trip.

Meghan will reportedly join her husband after his UK commitments when he heads to Nigeria next month.

Harry will be in attendance at the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8, a spokesperson for Invictus Games confirmed to The Sun.

The service marks the 10th anniversary of Harry’s Invictus Games.

Harry founded the initiative in 2014 to give injured or sick military personnel and veterans the challenge of competing in sporting events similar to the Paralympics.

While in the UK, it is thought the Duke of Sussex may also appear at the British Book Awards on May 13, as his memoir Spare has been nominated in two categories.

Just before the trip, Harry will celebrate the fifth birthday of his son Prince Archie at their home in Montecito, California.

It is understood Meghan, Archie and their youngest, Princess Lilibet, 2, will remain in the US.

Meghan has not returned to the UK since the funeral of Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth in September 2022.

It remains unknown where Harry will be staying during his UK trip.

The Sussexes were evicted from their UK residence Frogmore Cottage by King Charles after they stepped down as working royals in 2020.

After the UK trip, Harry is expected to travel to Nigeria with Meghan sometime in May, HELLO! reports.

The exact details of this trip are expected to be announced at a later date.

During the Dusseldorf, Germany Invictus Games in 2023, Harry shared in his speech that Meghan had “discovered she’s of Nigerian descent”.

The couple posed behind a Nigerian flag with some of the team members.

Meghan shared on her podcast Archetypes in October 2022 that she is 43 per cent Nigerian after taking a genealogy test.

“I just had my genealogy done a couple years ago … (and I’m) 43 per cent Nigerian,” she said in a conversation with Nigerian American performer Issa Rae, writer Ziwe Fumudoh and professor Emily Bernards.

“I’m going to start to dig deeper into all this because anybody that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are like ‘What!’”
