Next the business minces the ingredients together and forms small pellets, before freeze-drying the raw food.

This removes all of the water leaving the nutritional value completely intact with no cooking and no intense processing required.

The premium pet food has a 4.8-star rating on its website and shoppers say “even their fussiest pets love Frontier Pets food”.

Vet and Frontier Pets Ambassador Dr Katrina Warren said Frontier Pets’ decision to partner with local shelters and re-homing services would provide much-needed resources to the organisations.

“These organisations do incredible work in our communities and would otherwise not be able to afford high-quality, raw pet food for the animals in their care,” she said.

“Unfortunately, not all pets are lucky enough to have loving owners and safe homes to thrive in, The Frontier Pets ‘Pledge for Pets’ initiative is a small way to make a big difference to the lives of homeless pets across the country. And is just one way we can give back, quickly and easily.”

Frontier Pets has aligned with a handful of Australian charity partners for its campaign, including Happy Tails Rescue and Tiny Tails Chihuahua Rescue.

To get involved and show their support, animal lovers can submit a pledge with Frontier Pets by signing up here.

Animal lovers and pet owners can allocate the donated raw, freeze-dried pet food they buy to one of the listed charities of their choice.

Frontier Pets marketing manager Alicia Foster said Pledge for Pets was developed to raise awareness of the community organisations working tirelessly to support animals in crisis.

“Launching Pledge for Pets on International Dog Day is just the start. Our team is passionate about causes that support animal welfare, and we can’t wait to do more work with charitable partners in this space in the future,” she said.

“Our mission is to produce the best nutrition for Australian pets with ethically sourced ingredients that also have a positive impact on the environment and the welfare of all animals,” Alicia said.

Pledge for Pets will run from August 23 to September 1, 2024, in celebration of International Dog Day.
