Popular actor Shanto Khan and his father, Selim Khan, were reportedly lynched by a mob in Chandpur on Monday night. The incident reportedly occurred amid rising tensions following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation. Selim Khan, a well-known owner of a Bangladeshi production house, was a loyalist of Sheikh Hasina. Reports indicate that he faced violence as an expelled member of the Awami League after Hasina fled the country. His production house produced several hit films, including ‘Tungi Parar Miya Bhai’ and ‘Commando’.
Actor-director Parambrata Chatterjee expressed his shock at the killings, having collaborated on multiple projects in Bangladesh. He was attentive to my needs even at the hotel.
