Playboy-posing Oilers flasher jokes she should have won Conn Smythe

The Edmonton Oilers fan who flashed her breasts during the team’s playoff run jokingly thinks she should have been awarded the Conn Smythe trophy following Monday night’s Game 7 finale.

During Game 5 of Edmonton’s Western Conference final series against the Dallas Stars, the excited fan, who’s now known as “Kait Flynn,” became a viral sensation when she hoisted up her Oilers jersey and flashed her chest to thunderous cheers from the crowd.

Heading into Game 7, Kait predicted the Oilers would emerge victorious, filming a video in her shower saying “the Cup is coming back to Edmonton.”

But after club lost 2-1 to the Florida Panthers on Monday night, Kait took to her Instagram Stories to share a slideshow of inspiring messages, including a snap from a mock reel in which NHL commissioner Gary Bettman awarded her the Conn Smythe trophy.

Oilers captain Connor McDavid won the prize, which is given out to the most valuable player during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

“For the first time in NHL history, we are giving the award to a fan,” an AI-generated clip of Bettman says. “The winner of the 2024 Conn Smythe trophy is Kait Flynn, otherwise known as ‘Oilers Girl.’ When the Oilers were down three to nothing in the Stanley Cup finals, she whipped out her jugs and sent this Edmonton team into a frenzy. Please, everyone, join me in congratulating Oilers Girl!”

Along with the meme, Kait shared highlights from the hard-fought series and other words of wisdom following the heartbreaking loss, including a note urging followers to “stay kind and keep loving life.”

She also thanked the team for inspiring the city and a nation during the Oilers’ incredible two-month long playoff run.

Kait caused a social media storm when she hyped up the raucous crowd at Rogers Place after she flashed her breasts to a cameraperson during Game 5. Her identity remained a mystery until she broke her silence in an interview with the Barstool Sports podcast Spittin’ Chiclets.

“I got drunk and whipped my t–s out at an Oilers game, and they went viral? F— you if you don’t like it. Woo! Go Oilers!” she said.

Kate told Barstool Sports that she had guzzled about eight Truly hard seltzers and a bunch of Cheezies before deciding to show off her assets.

“It wasn’t planned or anything … and yeah, it just kind of happened,” she said.

She also fired back at critics who took issue with her brazen moment.

“I thought long and hard what I wanted to say to everybody. … I just wanted to say, you could be the most perfect, godly f—ing person in the world. You could save kittens from the river if they were drowning. Someone’s still going to hate you,” Kait said.

Just hours before the Oilers forced a Game 7 last Friday when they beat the Panthers on home ice, Playboy announced it had signed Kait to a deal with the Playboy Club.

“Meet Kait, the Oilers good luck charm,” the outlet shared in a post on Instagram that showcased their new model. “The Oilers might not have the Stanley Cup just yet, but with (Kait) cheering them on, they’re unstoppable.”

In a slideshow, Kait posed in an Oilers jersey and was captured trying on skates (as well as flashing the double middle-finger).

Kait reshared the photos alongside the caption, “Oilers in 7! You’re welcome.”

Hours before the puck dropped on Game 7, Kait shared a video from her shower as she guzzled a seltzer and predicted the Oilers would emerge victorious, bringing the Stanley Cup back to Canada for the first time since the Montreal Canadiens won it all in 1994.

“Hey you bunch of beauties, what’s going on today?” she began before taking a sip from her drink.

“So I was talking with my good buddy Biz (former NHLer Paul Bissonnette) over at Spittin’ Chiclets,” she said in the clip posted by Spittin’ Chiclets’ X page. “And he said: ‘What do you think’s gonna happen tonight, Kait?’ I said: ‘You don’t even have to ask, Biz.’

“Without a doubt, McJesus (Connor McDavid) is gonna lead the Oilers to a victory, and the Cup is coming back to Edmonton.”

She closed her shower video with a cheers before signing off with a hearty, “Go Oilers!”
