One fan @LFCKM05 who watched the cult classic on Christmas Eve, took to the platform to point out: “Watching Home Alone lost in New York and forgot Piers Morgan has a role in this film.”
The playful comparison prompted a less cheerful response from Piers who quipped back: “It’s. Not. Me.” followed by two angry-faced emojis.
Despite the 58-year-old presenter’s firm denial, fans still weren’t convinced he is not the person behind the character.
Another user @EverGrowSam added to the joke, penning: “Never seen you in the same room, Piers, just saying.”
As @davedurringo22 wrote: “The more you say it’s not you the more I believe it.”
Fan @IlanPotato noted: “There’s a suttle likeness.. Just saying.” [sic]
While @ChaseHeibel shared: “Just watched this today with my 6 and 4-year-old. They both looked over at me and said, “Father dearest, why is Donald Trump in the Palace Hotel while Piers Morgan is living in the park dressed as a woman and covered with Pigeons?” Kids these days, can’t get anything by them.”
Although Piers does share an uncanny resemblance to the pigeon lady, the role is actually played by Irish-born actress Brenda Fricker, 78, whose career has spanned over six decades.
