Pete Evans: Controversial former TV chef quits Northern Rivers wellness retreat after securing an offer

Controversial former television chef Pete Evans has quit his Northern Rivers wellness retreat after successfully securing an offer.

The disgraced, long-time former My Kitchen Rules judge and his partner Nicola Robinson listed the property in January.

According to Realestate.com.au, it consists of a main house plus seven cabins, which they have run as Evolve Sanctuary.

JET Real Estate agent Tania Sheppard said the property — which can accommodate 17 people — was “a leader in wellness tourism with a strong cashflow”.

“Seldom do profitable retreat businesses with significant landholdings such as Evolve Sanctuary change hands,” the marketing noted.

The property was offered with the potential to establish a new business or to enter into a rental arrangement with Evans to continue operating the retreat.

Offering ice baths, red-light treatment, a float tank and an infra-red sauna, a $1750-a-weekend men’s wellness retreat is scheduled for late September.

And there has been no price reveal of the impending sale.

In 2020, the couple paid $1m for the Mount Warning Forest hideaway, located 66km northwest of Byron Bay.

They then extensively updated the property.

It comes as earlier this year, Robinson revealed her husband’s striking mullet-style hairdo away from the spotlight.

Sharing an irreverent video of the 51-year-old on Instagram, Evans could be seen strutting around his home in the Byron Bay hinterland like a wild brumby as his mane draped over his razor-sharp sides.

Robinson, who describes herself as a “Forest Dweller” on the platform, sought to offer a glimpse into the much-maligned star’s arguably misunderstood personality.

“Kia ora ✨ I feel this lil vid has just got to go on the grid! If you know Pete well, you’ll know that he flows through life with a lot of humorous authenticity,” she captioned the post.

“He’s really here for it ALL ya know & he makes me laugh every day with his quick wit & funny skits.

“Just so you have the inside scoop, he’s partially taking the piss of my first light routine here & he’s also often asked lately ‘What’s your morning routine Pete’ to which he replies ‘I ain’t got one!’

“So I’m guessing if he had one, it may well look like this. In truth he does have a devotional practice, it’s just swell 🌊 dependent.

“So yeah, this is the beautiful man I journey with, he is the wise & fearless protector of our entire family. He’s so free, so light in his being & he is so full of trust, acceptance & love, & everyday with him is grounded in uniqueness because that’s how he rolls.“You, I love… my love!”
