Pet owner stunned over ‘entitled’ neighbours ‘unhinged’ demand in letter

There’s always that one neighbour; you know the kind I am talking about — the kind that waits to call you out for something trivial.

Well one pet owner was shocked when she received an “unhinged” letter in her mailbox from her neighbour.

“Hey neighbour! Can you please keep your cats out of the window?” the letter read.

“They are causing my dog to sit in the window and bark all day long.

“I work from home so this is very difficult, thanks, K.”

The woman lives with three cats and two new kittens at the home she owns.

“Two of the cats love to sit in the window when it’s nice out and they do nothing but sleep,” she explained.

“We keep the windows open because we don’t have aircon yet.”

Her post was met with more than 15,000 comments — with many furious at the dog owner.

“Tell them to train the dog,” suggested one.

“LMAO, you cannot stop a cat from sitting in a window. Cats will find a way, but you can absolutely do a number of things to stop a dog from barking at a window,” added another.

“This can’t be real, what a crazy neighbour,” said a third.

“People can be unhinged. If ‘your dog’ is barking when they look out the window then cover ‘your window,” added another.

One suggested: “I’m totally a dog person, but trying to make your neighbor discipline their cat for sitting in a window because you won’t discipline your dog for nuisance barking is SHEER INSANITY. I mean what the hell? Train your cat not to chill in a window because training a dog not to disturb the s*** out of everyone is too hard? I can’t believe this neighbour had the nerve.”

Many urged the cat owner to not respond, while another said: “Imagine being so entitled that you think it’s someone else’s responsibility to control your pet’s behaviour.

“Your cats have every right to enjoy a sunny window, and if this person’s dog has a conniption because of it, that is 100 per cent not your problem.”
