Microsoft has announced release dates for the first batch of multiplatform Xbox games. Confirming earlier rumours, Microsoft revealed that Pentiment, Grounded, Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush will be ported to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. It all begins on February 22, when Obsidian’s unique adventure game Pentiment makes its debut on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders for rhythm-based action game Hi-Fi Rush will also go live on February 22, although the game itself won’t be available until March 19.
Developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda, Hi-Fi Rush has so far only been announced for PlayStation 5.
Grounded, on the other hand, has been announced for PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, with cross-play supported across all platforms.
Launching on April 16, Grounded is a solo/co-op adventure game in which players must explore, build, and survive after being shrunk and stranded in the garden.
“Creatures can be found roaming the yard in a multitude of environments, such as the depths of the pond, the caverns of the termite den, and even the sweltering heat found in the sandbox,” reads the official description.
“You can even attract them to different places in the yard by activating the MIX.R devices. However, the more you interfere with the creatures in the yard, the higher the chance that they come knocking at your own door, so you better prepare.”
Finally, online pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves is coming to PlayStation 5 on April 30.
“Having built a passionate community of more than 35 million players from around the world, the support of cross play for Xbox, PlayStation and PC will allow players to experience epic pirate adventures with friends on more platforms,” Microsoft explains.
Despite a rocky launch, Sea of Thieves has become one of Microsoft’s most popular online games.
It’s also one of the most content-rich, thanks to a steady stream of updates and new end-game content.
