The tour will take in 25 cities in nine countries.

Antipodean fans will have to wait until later in the year to see Pearl Jam live, however.

The Dark Matter World Tour will come to Australia and New Zealand in November, the band revealed on Wednesday.

“Introducing The Dark Matter World Tour, kicking off May 2024,” the Instagram caption read, with a video listing every date on the tour.

“The Ten Club Ticket Presale Request is now open and registration for general onsale starts today,” Pearl Jam’s message read.

The tour will kick off in early May in Canada, before winding its way through the US, parts of Europe, back to the US, and finally to Auckland on November 8.

That will be followed by concerts at the Gold Coast’s Heritage Bank Stadium on November 13, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on November 16 and Sydney’s Giants Stadium on November 21.

No dates are listed for any other Australian cities.

For the Australia/New Zealand leg of the tour, the band will be supported by fellow 1990s grunge/indie legends The Pixies.

While fans went wild over the news, some fans in certain parts of the world weren’t happy.

“World tour that doesn’t take in Brazil?” one fan asked, noting the lack of South American dates.

“Call me crazy, but I’m pretty sure South America is still part of the world. If you forgot,” grumbled another.

Some fans also complained about the price of tickets — if they could get online to register for any.

“I want to take my dad to a show. I didn’t realise I’d have to literally pay him back for my entire childhood to do so,” one fan wrote.

“How do you justify $185 per ticket for the worst seats in the stadium? That’s like twice the cost from three years ago,” said another.

“SITE IS CRASHING HELPPP,” one fan wrote.

Some Australian fans were gutted Pearl Jam wasn’t going to their town.

“PERTH!!! Come on,” one fan begged.

“No Perth or Adelaide?” another disappointed fan wrote.

But most Pearl Jam fans were ecstatic about the news and many said they would travel to see the band.

“To say I’m excited would be an understatement,” one wrote.

“Let’s go!!!” added another.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder recently said the band felt the new album was its best work yet.

“We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work,” the 59-year-old said, as reported by People.

“No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”
