The driver of the car – a man believed to be in his 40s – had to be cut free from the wreckage by Fire and Rescue NSW and was treated for minor injuries before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Three other passengers, including two women and a four-year-old child, were also taken to Westmead in a stable condition.

The bus driver was not injured, however, he was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.

“The bus was not in service and there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident,” police said.

Police have established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
