His alleged victim is a 34-year-old mother of two who says she’s frightened because the accused is a police officer.

She fears her house has been bugged and that her phone has had monitoring software installed.

Police claim numerous checks were conducted by the defendant using an internal system to access events and persons associated with her including her ex-husband, father, brother and friends.

Weston is suspended with pay from the Police Transport Command and is currently on bail.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said the case is a “complex matter” before the courts but that under tougher laws proposed for DV offences, he might not be entitled to bail.

“We would have applied the bail law to the officer the same as we would have applied it to anyone else,” Webb said.

Weston can’t go within five hundred metres of his alleged victim.
