At least that’s the story according to England’s Charley Hull, who has become a social media phenom in recent months after videos of the golfer smoking cigarettes on the course during LPGA tournaments went viral.

The blonde Brit caused quite a stir as golf fans couldn’t get enough of watching a world-class athlete hack darts while competing at the highest level.

Hull’s habit and social media fame even attracted suitors who tried to woo her with pick-up attempts while she played.

But according to the 28-year-old, who will be competing for Great Britain in the women’s individual golf competition beginning Wednesday, you won’t see any of her smokey vice this week at Le Golf National.

“Yeah, I do smoke on the course, it’s a habit, but I won’t do this week,” Hull said on Tuesday.

Hull was asked why she will be laying off the coffin nails this week at the Olympics.

“I don’t think you’re allowed,” she said.

The golfer was asked if she thinks her play will be affected by a ban on her pastime.

“Yeah, I think it will. Because it relaxes me a little bit,” she said. “But it is what it is.”

Some were surprised with the French having such a proud smoking history, that the Paris Olympics would ban cigarettes.

“I thought the French would allow you to smoke,” one reporter asked.

Hull seems to be holding out hope.

“Hopefully, yeah,” she said.

The two-time LPGA winner thinks she will be just fine at the Olympics.

“I’m pretty chill on the golf course,” she said. “I just think about other stuff. It’s just another week.

“Obviously it’s the Olympics so you just have to keep your cool and when you get off the golf course, enjoy the atmosphere.”
