New York Islanders to host NHL All-Star Weekend in 2026

The New York Islanders will host the NHL All-Star Weekend at UBS Arena in 2026, the league announced Sunday.

The announcement came as the Islanders faced off against the New York Rangers during the Stadium Series at MetLife Stadium.

“The National Hockey League is thrilled to have the best and brightest of our game hosted at the spectacular UBS Arena for the 2026 NHL All-Star Weekend,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said in a release. “We have been looking forward to UBS Arena playing host to one of our major League events since before construction of this wonderful arena began.

“We have every confidence that the Islanders organization, led by Scott Malkin and Jon Ledecky, will deliver a celebration that will make the greater New York region and the NHL proud.”

It’ll be the first All-Star Weekend at UBS Arena. The Islanders previously hosted the All-Star Game in the 1983 edition at Nassau Coliseum. The Campbell Conference All-Stars beat the Wales Conference All-Stars 9-3 with Wayne Gretzky earning the MVP award.

“After an impressive All-Star Weekend earlier this month, the players are looking forward to raising the bar even higher at UBS Arena in 2026 where we know the New York Islanders will be great hosts for the event,” said Marty Walsh, NHLPA Executive Director, said in the release. “The NHL All-Star Weekend will be an exciting lead-in to the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.”

Toronto hosted this year’s All-Star festivities at Scotiabank Arena last weekend. Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews took home MVP honours as he led his squad over Connor McDavid’s team 7-4 in the final.

There will be no All-Star Weekend next season as the NHL plans to hold the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament between Canada, the United States, Finland and Sweden.

Dates and format for the 2026 NHL All-Star Weekend will be revealed at a later date.
