The Air Dynasty helicopter crashed in Nepal’s Nuwakot. There were at least five people on board including five passengers.
The crash occurred at a forest in the mountains northwest of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu.
Police have recovered five dead bodies from the crash site in Ward No 7 of Shivapuri Rural Municipality, Nuwakot, a report by the Myrepublica newspaper said.
The Air Dynasty helicopter, 9N-AJD, was en route to Rasuwa from Kathmandu when it crashed. The helicopter took off from Kathmandu at 1:54 PM but lost contact just three minutes after takeoff, news report said.
Police officials told mediapersons that the bodies of two men, one woman and the pilot (identified as Arun Malla) were recovered from the accident site. One body has not been identified yet as it is charred beyond recognition, news agencies said.This accident comes close on the heels of a plane crash near Kathmandu airport that had left 18 people dead. In that crash, near the Tribhuvan International Airport on July 24, the captain was the sole survivor.
