Emergency crews raced to the crash scene on Canterbury Rd at Mavis St but paramedics couldn’t save the rider.

“Despite CPR administered by bystanders the rider — a 23-year-old man — died at the scene,” NSW Police said.

Police said the Porsche driver, the sole occupant in the vehicle, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

The crash investigation unit is now probing the fatal incident.

Canterbury Rd is closed between The River Rd and Claribel St, with diversions in place and drivers have been warned there will be delays.

“This diversion is only suitable for light vehicles. Heavy vehicles are being parked,” authorities aid.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
