Witnesses claim a man tricked an elderly woman into believing her car had a flat tyre, according to a post on the Dashcam Owners Australia Facebook page.

In the video, the woman is visibly distressed as the car drives off and a group of people gather to help her.

Police confirmed they were told a 73-year-old woman had returned to her parked car and unlocked it when a man, who has not been identified, then allegedly got in the car, locked the doors and drove away.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
