Despite the imminent launch of Black Ops 6, Activision is still releasing new content for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Call of Duty Season 5 Reloaded has an August 21 release date for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. The big new content drop will officially launch at 5pm BST UK time, although the accompanying update should be available to download ahead of time. Downloading early will ensure you can start enjoying the content the moment the clock hits 5pm. Judging by the early patch notes, the new content will certainly be worth checking out, especially the brand new cel-shaded multiplayer variant.

As part of the Season 5 Reloaded update, Activision is transforming the Stash House map into a new variant called Ink House.
According to the patch notes, the colourful new Ink House map features bright colours, sharp outlines and an “animated sheen” that belies its true danger.
Ink House is described as a small map that’s playable in core game modes for battles between teams of six people.
There are also a selection of new and returning game modes, including Cyber Attack, Paintball and Fishfection!
Taking the place of humans vs infected, Fishfection is the ultimate battle between cats and fish.
Activision explains more: “Cats are equipped with the new Torque 35 compound bow and the Spear.
“Fish Operators must find a way to dispose of their feline enemies, thus turning them to their own side. Infect all the cats or survive the time limit to win.”
Other new and returning game modes include Defuse or Destroy, which sees teams taking turns to attack and defend bomb sites. The twist, however, is that bombs are planted at the start of rounds in one of two possible locations.
Cyber Attack, meanwhile, is a no-respawn game mode in which teams battle for control of a centrally placed EMP device.
If you manage to retrieve the device, you’re tasked with planting it at the enemy’s base. To make things even more intesting, the carrier will receive extra intel via radar pings. Players can also revive fallen teammates.
According to the early patch notes, the new Modern Warfare 3 update will also lay the foundation for a more streamlined Call of Duty experience.
This includes a reorganisation of the game files, separating Call of Duty: Warzone from the default download for annual titles and the implementation of new texture streaming tech.
Daily Express will return with full Modern Warfare 3 patch notes when the update drops on August 21.
