Men are playing thousands to get nipples like David Beckham

It looks like a lot of people are in envy of what’s on Becks’ pecs.

Former English soccer star David Beckham has long been the envy of men for his great looks, chiseled physique and outstanding skills on the pitch.

But, according to DailyMail.com, the feature that men have been seeking to replicate through plastic surgery is his nipples.

“This is a thing, people want David Beckham’s nipples,” Dr. Marc Everett, who runs a clinic in Manhattan, said.

Another plastic surgeon, Dr. Elie Levine, said it was “definitely a growing trend.”

Apparently, Beckham’s nipples are considered “ideal” by experts because of their small, almond shape and symmetry. The trend towards getting smaller nipples is due to wearing tighter-fitting shirts, which accentuate the nipples.

Levine said that he has had all types of patients coming to him for nipples “like those on David Beckham.”

“The patients who ask are often those from Europe and South America, but a lot are also average men who grew up in the U.S. and are just cognizant (aware) of (Beckham),” he said.

Everett says that he probably carries out the procedure once every two weeks. It involves extracting breast tissue from underneath the nipples and sewing them back up to give a smaller appearance. It can also involve cutting out most of the nipple protrusion to make it smaller and more almond-like.

The procedure itself can be relatively quick, too, lasting around an hour with a cost of up to $5,000 US.

“Nipple reduction surgery is definitely a growing trend,” Levine said. “It is not the most common procedure I perform but it is definitely one that is trending upwards.

“I was doing this procedure rarely two years ago, a handful of times a year. But now I would say it is not at all uncommon today.

“I am doing this surgery about every other week.”

It’s not just clients in the Big Apple that are seeking to shrink their nipples, either.

Dr. Deniz Sarhaddi, a plastic surgeon in Missouri, said she has also seen patients come to her for nipple reductions.

“Men generally don’t come for plastic surgery, but when they do come in, it is usually something to do with the chest,” she said.

“A lot of the time they call my office and say, ‘My nipples are too big.’”

As for Beckham, since hanging up his boots, he has remained in the public eye.

He and his family were featured in a hit Netflix docuseries last year called Beckham, which chronicled his rise to global stardom and marriage to former pop star Victoria ‘Posh Spice’ Beckham.

He is a co-owner of MLS club Inter Miami, which itself is on the rise after signing Lionel Messi last year.
