Donald Trump has apparently been able to shed some pounds as he hits the campaign trail by skipping the buffet bar at Mar-a-Lago.

And supposedly the more toned version of the former U.S. president is thanks to his wife Melania Trump, who is urging the businessman to give the desserts a break in a bid to appear healthier for prospective voters.

An insider tells Page Six that Trump has allegedly “dropped at least 30 pounds,” and that “people at the club say he’s eating healthier.”

The Republican front runner has not been seen “scarfing down ice cream sundaes or chocolate cake with two scoops of vanilla ice cream on it.”

Another source told the outlet Trump “does lots of sport. He looks good.”

Chatter that Trump is taking weight-loss drugs “like Ozempic or Wegovy” is “pure speculation,” an insider adds.

In November, Trump’s physician, Dr. Bruce Aronwald, said he was in “excellent” health and that he had “reduced his weight.”

According to the Associated Press, Aronwald said Trump’s “physical exams were well within the normal range and his cognitive exams were exceptional.”

On Joe Biden’s 81st birthday last November, Trump, who is 77, went one step further and bragged about his mental abilities in a series of Truth Social posts, reminding followers that he “ACED” a “mental acuity test.”

He also told told NBC’s Meet the Press in September that an elderly leader wasn’t a bad thing for America. “It’s always time for a new generation. But, you know, some of the greatest world leaders have been in their 80s,” Trump said in an interview. “And Biden’s not too old. I don’t think Biden’s too old. But I think he’s incompetent, and that’s a bigger problem.”

In 2015, Trump’s campaign team released a letter declaring his “physical strength and stamina are extraordinary.”

“If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” Aronwald wrote.

Following a 2019 examination, Trump was found to weigh 243 pounds, a weight which put him in the obese category.

But not everyone is convinced Trump has been dropping pounds.

During a stop on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the late-night host asked health nut Arnold Schwarzenegger if he believed Trump’s self-reported booking weight of 215 pounds after he turned himself in at the Fulton County jail to face more than a dozen charges stemming from his efforts to reverse the 2020 election last August.

“Yes, as much as it is possible that there is no climate change,” Schwarzenegger quipped. “And as much as it’s possible that we don’t need to reduce pollution.”

He continued, “Look, we all know the way he is, and if it makes him feel good to tell everyone he weighs 215, I think everyone laughs about it because he does not look like he weighs 215. He’s a little more like 315.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is also running for the Republican nomination, also hit out at his political rival.

“The presidency is not a job for somebody that’s pushing 80 years old,” DeSantis said on CNN Sunday last fall, casting himself as a man “in the prime of my life.”

But during a court appearance in December, Trump had a blunt response when he saw a sketch of himself. “I gotta lose some weight,” he told a courtroom sketch artist Isabelle Brourman.

Meanwhile, his son, Donald Trump Jr., also took notice of the courtroom artists’ work. He told Jane Rosenberg in November to “make me look sexy.”

Trump’s courtroom likeness also became social media fodder last summer when William J. Hennessy Jr. depicted the former president as much thinner.

“They got Trump looking like ‘Prince of Tides’ Nick Nolte in this sketch,” movie critic Richard Roeper wrote.

In response, Hennessy insisted he wasn’t editorializing. “I just draw what I see,” he told the Boston Globe.
