Meghan Markle looked elegant during Friday’s tech panel in Texas to mark International Women’s Day.
The Duchess of Sussex travelled to Texas to speak at a women’s panel titled Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen panel during the 2024 SXSW Conference and Festival alongside Errin Haines, Katie Couric, Brooke Shields, and Nancy Wang Yuen.
Her husband, Prince Harry was pictured in the audience applauding his wife.
Meghan donned a monochrome outfit by pairing a Giuliva Heritage’s Husband shirt (£757) and Lena maxi skirt (£817) in an ecru colour (Striped Silk).
She accessorised the look with Valentino’s Roman Stud flat mules in ivory (£598), a pair of gold Bottega Veneta Knot hoop earrings (£476) and her stunning engagement ring.
The ring on its own is estimated to be upwards of £120,000.
But some royal fans were not convinced with the duchess’s choice of colour.
One user wrote on Instagram: “I am saying nothing about the person so don’t come at me but the fit is poor and a vibrant colour would have suited her better.”
Another one added: “I usually ADORE this lady’s style but today it’s a miss for me. She is very small framed and this looks a bit like a bed sheet on her. I’m sure the fabric is beautiful in real life but it photographs very blah and the muted colour palette does her no favours. Her hair and make up look absolutely lovely though xx(sic)”
A third one commented: “Difficult colour to wear, can’t say she nailed it I think bright colours suit her better(sic)”
A fourth one said: “I like the style, but I’m not sure it’s her color(sic)”
But there were others who loved Meghan’s look and praised the Duchess for her fashion choice.
One user said: “She looks fabulous as always. She rocks the husband shirt like no one else.”
A second one agreed: “It looks so comfortable and understated. I love that she wears flats!”
A third one chimed: “Like this! Not what I expected for her, but beautiful nonetheless.”
