As he made his way to the stage in front of a sold-out crowd at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena Friday night, Drake brought out a familiar face — Maple Leafs legend Tie Domi.

Before launching his concert with Look What You’ve Done from 2011’s Take Care LP, Drake put his arm around the former NHL star and pointed to him as thunderous cheers rained down from the crowd.

On his Instagram, Domi, who played 1,020 games over 16 seasons, said he was “honoured to walk out with Drake.”

The forward’s celebrity pals took to the comments to celebrate, with Mark Wahlberg calling the pair a couple of “T.O. GOATS.”

Former NFL great Tom Brady weighed in, adding, “All love,” while Hulk Hogan wrote, “Good stuff brother.”

Last year, Drake called Domi “probably one of the most popular Leafs to ever play … And that’s because of his heart.”

Domi attended Drake’s hometown show with his son, Max, and his new Maple Leafs teammates, including Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, William Nylander and Timothy Liljegren.

Asked about the surprise, Max, 28, told reporters he was happy for his dad.

“He deserves it. He gave his heart and soul to this city just like Drake does,” Max said. “So it was great to see. I know they’re good buddies so it was awesome. I think he was pretty excited about it and he looked good up there.”

The cheers for his father also came as no surprise to Max. Asked if he was caught off guard by the reception, Max replied, “Not at all. He’s the man. He’s the best and he deserves every single bit of it.”

Earlier this summer, Domi made an appearance at Drake’s Chicago tour stop with the rapper sharing a pic with the Leafs’ all-time leader in penalty minutes alongside Blackhawks legend Chris Chelios.

“Me Domi and Chelly dialed in,” the Grammy winner wrote in one pic, while adding in another, “@NHL I sent you a DM read it immediately you have 24 hrs to respond.”

In 2018, when Drake made a stop at Montreal’s Bell Centre, Max, then playing for the Canadiens, surprised the Torontonian with some local swag, gifting him a Habs jersey.

“Much respect for everything you do @Drake,” Max wrote on social media.

But Drake didn’t just pay tribute to Domi as his It’s All a Blur tour came to a close with a two-night stand in Toronto. Throughout the evening, he repeatedly declared his “love” for this city and rewarded other lucky fans in attendance.

At one point, he offered to pay the tuition for seven people, while he promised another fan he would “pay whatever it takes to get you the best help in the world” after she revealed she was battling multiple sclerosis.

Another attendee scored a $10,000 shopping spree at Yorkdale Mall, with Billboard’s Artist of the Decade also pledging to help someone who does good deeds in their community retire.

The acts of generosity came as Drizzy, 36, announced he is planning to take a break.

“I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be honest,” he said while speaking on his show Table For One on SiriusXM’s Sound 42. “ I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be real with you. I need to focus on my health first and foremost and I’ll talk about that soon enough.”

Revealing that he’s been having the “craziest problems” with his stomach, the musician said he’s going to be stepping away from the stage.

“Nothing crazy but just I want people to be healthy in life and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach,” he continued. “So I need to focus on my health and get right, and I’m going to do that … So I’m gonna lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe, maybe a year or something, or maybe a little longer.”

Drake’s update came on the same day he dropped his eighth studio album, For All the Dogs.
