Matthew Perry's dealer sold drugs that caused a 2019 overdose

(NewsNation) — U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said that “Friends” actor Matthew Perry’s drug dealer also sold drugs to another person who overdosed in 2019.

Perry’s dealer, Jasveen Sangha, sold approximately 50 vials of ketamine for approximately $11,000 in cash to Perry in October 2023. Sangha sold Perry the batch of ketamine that resulted in his death.

Estrada said in a press conference that during the investigation into Perry’s death, investigators found that Sangha sold ketamine to Cody McLaury, who overdosed in 2019. After McLaury died, a family member sent a message to Sangha telling her that ketamine was the cause of McLaury’s death.

Authorities have charged five people in connection with the death of Perry, who was found face down in a hot tub at his California home. The defendants include Sangha, who is known as the “Ketamine Queen,” two doctors and Perry’s personal assistant.

The defendants have been charged with “distributing ketamine to Perry during the final weeks of the actor’s life,” according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Estrada also said in the press conference that upon searching Sangha’s home, authorities found “thousands” of pills, ketamine, Xanax, cocaine and other illegally obtained prescription drugs.
