His brother spent the night in a critical condition at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital after sustaining injuries to his face, head, neck and hand. His mother was in a stable condition in the same hospital with a throat injury.
Police described the incident as a “very serious domestic violence-related incident” and alleged Dang had planned the attack.
Dang was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of wounding with intent to murder.
His father, Chung Dang, said he had walked into the home from work when he was met with the confronting scene.
“I see my family on the ground and I don’t know what happened,” he said.
He added: “I never expected this (to) happen.”
His injured son and wife are currently stable in hospital.
Evidence seized from the house is being examined by police to determine a motive.
“I want to know the answer for my son, my wife,” the father told reporters.
The accused will remain in custody until his next court appearance in July.
