Marlon Brando ‘couldn’t stand’ Clint Eastwood and thought acting was ‘bulls***’ | Films | Entertainment

Marlon Brando is considered one of the greatest actors of all time, winning the two Oscars, including for The Godfather.

Yet it turns out the Hollywood star who died 20 years ago didn’t think much of his own acting or the craft in general,

In a new interview with The New York Times, Eddie Murphy shared how he became friends with Brando when he shot to fame in the 1980s.

Hanging out at the late star’s Hollywood home, the comic recalled: “I was just going on and on about The Godfather, and he was like, ‘Eh, The Godfather. Not just The Godfather — acting.

“He was like, ‘Acting is bulls***, and everybody can act.’”

Murphy added: “This is how long ago it was: He was going, ‘I can’t stand that kid with the gun.’ I was like, ‘What kid with the gun?’ He said, ‘He’s on the poster!’ I was like, Clint Eastwood?’, ‘Yeah, that guy!’ He was calling Clint Eastwood ‘that kid.’”

Amusingly Eastwood, who is 94, is only six years older than Brando.
