Marks and Spencer shoppers are praising the High Waisted Smart Wide Leg Jeans, which are retailing for £39.50.
There have been over 300 reviews of the denim trousers, which come in Indigo Mix, Black, and Soft White.
Ideal for the spring time, the white jeans have been said by one happy customer to be “a perfect fit” on the waist and length.
“Lovely material,” Norex beamed on the Marks and Spencer (M&S) website. “Goes with anything.”
The versatile trouser is available in petite, regular and long lengths, and ranges from a size six to a size 22.
M&S said the jeans have a “70s-inspired flare”, a flattering high waist, and a “neat finish and tailored appearance”.
Fans seem to agree with one shopper posting: “High waist gives a smooth look and detail seam down the front makes them look smart; had lots of compliments when wearing them.”
The only drawbacks noted were that the leg size might still be too long for petite women under 5ft 3.
“Disappointed and will have to return. Shame as they are lovely jeans,” wrote Rozal.
DocMel added: “Too long. Could only wear with heels or boots. Wanted to wear with trainers.”
While more expensive, Abercrombie & Fitch offers the High Rise Wide Leg Jean for £75, which may be more fitting for short-legged women.
One reviewer posted: “Great fit and length for me (5ft 3in; ordered short). Really soft and the denim is not too thick. I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of these in the summer.”
Another, who put down her height as 5ft 3in, posted: “Lovely fit and perfect length.”
A more budget-friendly price tag belongs to River Island’s Petite White Relaxed Straight Jeans for £40.
The cotton denim jeans are high-waisted, straight-legged, and have belt loops, and while there are no reviews on the website, the jeans are selling fast.
Size four is completely out of stock at the time of writing, but there are still pieces available from size six to size 16.
The model in the picture, however, who is seen wearing kitten heels, is 5ft 4in, so the verdict is out on how well it fits more petite women.
