Congratulations are in order for Margot Robbie.
Multiple sources confirmed to People that the Barbie actor is pregnant. This will be the first child for Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley. The news comes after paparazzi photos emerged of the two vacationing in Lake Como, with Robbie displaying her baby bump in a crop top. Social media soon was abuzz with the news.
Ackerley and Robbie have been married since 2016 and run a production company, LuckyChap, together. (Some of their films? Saltburn, Promising Young Woman, and yes, Barbie.)
In Vogue’s June 2016 issue, Robbie opened up about her relationship with Ackerley. They met in 2013 on the set World War II drama Suite Française, and initially they were just friends. “I was the ultimate single gal. The idea of relationships made me want to vomit. And then this crept up on me. We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him,” she said. “And then it happened, and I was like, Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.” She also described her husband as “the best-looking guy in London.” In 2024, Ackerley told The Sunday Times that he spends nearly every single day working and talking with his wife. “It’s seamless. We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing,” he said.
That interview turned out to be an outlier, as both Robbie and Ackerley have remained extremely private about their relationship—and presumably, will do so about their growing family as well.
