The Maple Leafs winger is among a group of National Hockey League stars who will be featured in the latest sports docuseries produced by Amazon with NHL Productions for Prime Video, airing during the 2024-25 season.

The NHL announced the untitled project, being made in conjunction with Box To Box Films, on Thursday morning.

Other NHL players who will be followed in the series include Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers; Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers; Jacob Trouba of the New York Rangers; David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman of the Boston Bruins; Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks; Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights; Filip Forsberg of the Nashville Predators; and Gabriel Landeskog of the Colorado Avalanche.

The series will feature in-depth interviews with key players, their rivals and those in their closest inner circle, including teammates, coaches, and family.

The series will take viewers behind the scenes for glimpses at what life on-and-off the ice is like for the league’s top players.

In the teaser video released on Thursday, Nylander is seen watching kids play on an outdoor rink.

“I would have loved this when I was a kid,” Nylander says. “There were moments in your teams where you realized that you were good, but from a young age, my mindset was just I’m going to play in the NHL.”

Nylander talks to the kids afterward and takes a spin on the ice with them.

Later, Nylander refers to contract negotiations with the Leafs as “a tough time.” He is also seen watching the Leafs play in the first round against the Boston Bruins while he recovers from issues with migraine headaches, saying “it sucks not being out there.”

Crews will be embedded with McDavid, Tkachuk and their teammates, families and friends during the Stanley Cup final between the Oilers and Panthers, getting underway on Saturday with Game 1 in Sunrise, Fla.

Debuting this fall, the new series joins recently announced Prime Monday Night Hockey, which will stream national regular season Monday night NHL games exclusively on Prime Video in Canada.

The series is the fourth original hockey program produced by Amazon with NHL Productions for Prime Video, following All or Nothing: Toronto Maple Leafs, Chosen One: Alexandre Daigle and Saving Sakic.

“We want to stay true to the world of ice hockey with the series,” Box To Box Films co-founder and executive producer Paul Martin said in a statement. “The sport is as beautiful, skillful and graceful, as it is brutal, pressurized and powerful; and we aim to balance the energetic and fast-paced action leading up to the Stanley Cup Final, with the quiet and raw drama taking place off the ice.”
