Man wearing Squid Game costume tasered at Central Station after allegedly approaching NSW police officer wielding a knife

A NSW police officer was forced to taser a man who allegedly came at her wielding a knife, while wearing a costume from the Netflix series Squid Game.

The South Korean TV drama follows a group of financially desperate players competing in deadly games for a big cash prize, while supervised by guards wearing pink jumpsuits and full-face masks.

About 11.40pm on Thursday a man reportedly wearing a Squid Game costume entered a train that pulled into platform 24 at Sydney’s Central Station, however police had been alerted and followed the man.

He allegedly advanced towards one of the officers wielding a knife and she tasered him.

The 38-year-old was arrested and taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for assessment.

No passengers or officers were injured in the incident, however police are now calling for anyone in the area at the time who may have information.
