A man in his 20s was freed from his car after a terrifying crash on the Western Mwy on Wednesday night.
His vehicle spun out of control and smashed into the concrete lane divider on the M4, just before the off-ramp at Greystanes, in Western Sydney, just after 9.30pm.
He was trapped inside the vehicle until firefighters rescued him with a “side removal” of the car, NSW Fire and Rescue said.
The driver was treated at the scene for shock and fell in and out of consciousness as he was being treated and transported to Westmead Hospital, NSW Ambulance said.

Several other vehicles were involved in a small pile-up as a result, but NSW Police said the motorists exchanged details and the incident would be an insurance rather than police matter.
