It’s been nearly two years since a woman was attacked by a stranger while out for a walk on Hamilton West Mountain – a terrifying assault that was interrupted by passersby.

But the brazen assailant remains on the loose.
Hamilton Police say the victim was walking in the area of Upper Paradise and Donnici Dr. when she was approached by “an unknown male” and “dragged off the trail” around 9:30 a.m. on July 13, 2022.
“The male proceeded to assault her, but was interrupted by witnesses walking by the area,” police said in a statement that was re-released on Thursday.
It’s believed the man ran off southbound towards Upper Paradise.
Just days after the daylight attack, investigators released images and video of a suspect captured by a security camera in the area of Edgehill Dr. – hoping someone would recognize the man.
But the suspect’s identity remains a mystery, so police have re-released those images and video – once again hoping members of the public know the man and come forward.
“Despite following numerous tips and leads, investigators have not yet been able to identify or locate this individual,” police said. “We are asking the public once again to be vigilant and report any sightings or information related to this suspect.”

The suspect is described as Black, 18 to 24 years old, with short curly hair shaved on the sides, about 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds with an athletic build.
At the time, he was wearing a navy v-neck blue T-shirt, black or dark-coloured jogging pants, white socks, grey casual/running shoes with a white emblem, and he was carrying a black cross body bag.

He also wore a black medical mask under his chin and had a black sweater or jacket either tied around his waist or that he was carrying.
