A man has been rescued from his car after he became trapped when it crashed into light rail tracks in inner Sydney.
The 70-year-old man’s white Hyundai hatchback went off an embankment at the end of Darghan St at Glebe, in Sydney’s inner west, about 10am on Monday.

“The vehicle has fallen from some height, with the driver still in the vehicle, and that driver is trapped inside by their injuries,” Acting Superintendent Mat Sigmund from FRNSW said earlier on Monday.
Fire crews, police and ambulance launched a rescue mission in an effort to remove the man from his car.
He was then taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
The car ended up at the bottom of stairs down a rock cliff face adjacent to a light rail line, but a Transport for NSW spokesperson said the crash did not impact the tracks or services.
