Man Pays $4K To Do Something Weird To Taylor Swift’s Guitar

A man in Waxahachie, Texas, is going viral after he reportedly spent $4,000 Saturday night on a guitar said to be autographed by Taylor Swift.

But it’s not the money spent that’s attracting the attention, it’s what the man did to the instrument after his purchase that’s raising eyebrows on social media.

The man takes the guitar and immediately smashes it with a hammer for reasons, presumedly. (Watch the video here.)

The Swift guitar smashing occurred at the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner, which, according to the website, is a “non-profit organization supporting agricultural education for local youth.” Among the other items up for auction was the “Hot Mama Package,” which included a massage, a facial and a Sig Sauer .380 handgun.

The man who purchased the Swift-autographed guitar seems excited to get his hands on the instrument but not to play a tune. Instead, he smashes the guitar with a hammer a few times before briefly threatening to just bash it into the ground.

It remains unclear why the man was so excited about destroying a guitar connected to Swift, but the general consensus online seems to be that he’s not happy the singer recently endorsed Kamala Harris for president.

HuffPost reached out to the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner for details about the guitar, but no one immediately responded.

Obviously, many people had thoughts — lots of thoughts — about his decision to drop thousands on something just to destroy it (even for charity).

A grown man paying $4000 to destroy a guitar, to impress Trump is next level pathetic!

Taylor Swift is worth $1 billion. This doesn’t affect her. He just set $4000 on fire. He must be struggling in this economy.

What a wild move! That’s some serious commitment to a joke—definitely not how most would handle a prized possession!
