Man killed in single-vehicle crash with billboard and tree in South Grafton

A man has died after crashing into a billboard and a tree in northern New South Wales.

Emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash along Big River Way, South Grafton about 3.20pm on Tuesday.

A 25-year-old man – who was the driver and sole occupant – died at the scene before emergency services arrived.

Officers have established a crime scene and are awaiting the arrival of specialist police, a NSW Police spokesperson said.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area with traffic diversions in place and expected to remain for a “considerable amount of time”.

Anyone who witnessed the incident – or has any available dashcam or mobile phone footage – is urged to contact Grafton Police Station or Crime Stoppers.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
