Man killed as he falls from moving car on Pacific Motorway near Chinderah

A man has died after falling from a moving vehicle on a major NSW motorway.

The man, aged in his 20s, fell from the vehicle while riding as a passenger along the Pacific Mwy near Chinderah about 6.30pm on Wednesday.

After falling, he was struck by another vehicle.

Members of the public rushed to assist him, but he died at the site of the crash.

The 27-year-old man behind the wheel of the car he fell from was breathalysed by NSW Police at the scene and allegedly returned a positive result.

He then underwent a breath analysis at Tweed Heads Police Station, and allegedly returned a reading of 0.074.

He was then given an infringement notice for low range drink-driving and taken to Tweed Valley Hospital for mandatory testing.

NSW Police are investigating his passenger’s death and urge anyone with relevant information to come forward.
