A security guard, who was killed during an alleged assault at a hotel in Sutherland in Sydney’s south, has been identified.
Emergency services received reports of the alleged assault at the Royal Hotel Sutherland on East Parade at 2am on Sunday.

Mousa Alzaher, 30, was working his second shift at the popular pub when he was allegedly punched in the head by a patron following an altercation, police said.
He was treated by paramedics who rendered CPR, however, died at the scene.
7NEWS understands Alzaher had moved from Saudi Arabia to Australia to study and work.
His grieving family has been in touch with police.
Staff at the pub were seen cleaning the outside area of the venue for several hours on Sunday.
“The Royal Hotel Sutherland is deeply saddened by the tragic events that transpired in the early hours of this morning, extending its heartfelt condolences,” the venue said in a statement.
Floral tributes have since been left outside the hotel by devastated locals, who told 7NEWS they were shocked and sadden by the events of Saturday night.
“I heard a lady screaming at the top of her lungs and then all of a sudden I popped out and there were police cars everywhere,” a local man said.
Superintendent Craig Middleton described the event as “terrible”.
“The security guard has ended up losing his life. It’s just a tragedy all round for the families involved,” he told reporters.
The alleged attacker, a 31-year-old man, was a patron at the pub, and had been requested to leave before the assault, police allege.
He was taken to Sutherland Police Station and charged with assault occasioning death.
His case was briefly mentioned at Sutherland Local Court on Monday.
He did not apply for bail and will remain behind bars until his next court appearance in April.
