Man dies in ute crash on Castlereagh Hwy, Great Western Plains

A man has died in a two-vehicle crash in the NSW’s Great Western Plains region on Wednesday afternoon.

The 65-year-old man was driving a ute which collided with a station wagon about 2.45pm on the Castlereagh Hwy at Gilgandra, 65km north of Dubbo.

He was treated by NSW paramedics but died at the scene.

His 70-year-old female passenger was treated for chest injuries and taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The occupants of the station wagon sustained minor injuries in the crash.

“The driver of the station wagon, an 18-year-old woman, and two male passengers were treated at the scene,” NSW Police said.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information, or CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
