Man dies in two-vehicle crash on Newell Highway at Tooraweenah in central west NSW

A man has died in a two-vehicle crash in central west New South Wales.

Emergency services were called to the Newell Highway at Tooraweenah, about 30km northwest of Gilgandra, following the crash between a truck and car about 7.20pm on Tuesday.

The driver of the car – a man believed to be in his 60s – was treated by paramedics, however, he died at the scene.

A woman in her 30s, who was a passenger in the car, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital in a stable condition.

The truck driver was not injured, however, attended Coonabarabran Hospital for mandatory testing.

NSW Police said local officers had “commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident”.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
