Man dies in crash at Manildra as adults and two children hospitalised

A man has died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash in NSW’s Central West.

The station wagon he was driving and a dual-cab ute collided on Packham Dr at Manildra, about 50km west of Orange, about 2pm on Sunday.

The young man, believed to be in his 30s, is yet to be formally identified.

Inside the ute wreckage, a woman trapped in the front passenger seat was freed and airlifted to a Sydney hospital.

“Police have been told her injuries are not life-threatening,” NSW Police said.

The 44-year-old male driver of the ute and two children escaped serious injury, police said.

They were taken to Orange Base Hospital and checked as a precaution, and the 44-year-old man underwent mandatory testing.

A report will be prepared for the coroner, and any witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
