A man has died after sustaining severe burns in an apartment fire in Sydney’s northwest.
The blaze engulfed a top-floor apartment of the five-storey building on Angas St in Meadowbank about 4pm on Monday.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews managed to quickly control the blaze and it was extinguished a short time later.
A 45-year-old man was found with severe burns inside the apartment.
He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
Police on Tuesday confirmed he had died from his injuries.
“An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the fire, however, the cause is not yet known,” police said.
“A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
Residents of the apartment building were evacuated as parts of the top floor apartment collapsed.
One resident suffered a heart attack during the evacuation and was taken to Concord Hospital.
