A man has died in a truck and car crash on a major road in Sydney’s inner west
The truck and Mercedes-Benz sedan crashed on Liverpool Rd at Ashfield about 8am on Tuesday.
The 61-year-old driver of the truck was treated by paramedics but died at the site of the crash.

The 30-year-old man behind the wheel of the Mercedes was uninjured and taken to Canterbury Hospital for mandatory testing.
“A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced,” NSW Police said.
“Both vehicles were seized to be forensically examined.”
Anyone with relevant information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, is urged to contact police.
All eastbound lanes and one westbound lane are closed on Liverpool Rd.
The left turn lane from Frederick St and the right turn lane from Milton St are also closed.
Local buses travelling towards Ashfield are also delayed and diverting via Frederick St, missing several stops.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area, and to allow extra travel time.
