A Montreal man was charged with criminal harassment and numerous firearms charges after tracking devices were found on luxury SUVs over the weekend in the Yorkdale Shopping Centre parking lot.

Toronto Police said they responded to a suspicious incident call on Saturday at about 3:20 p.m. in the Dufferin St.-Yorkdale Rd. area, where a person was seen kneeling beside a parked Range Rover in the Yorkdale mall lot before walking away.

After being told of the incident, mall security called the police, who then located a tracking device on the vehicle.
“Further investigation revealed … a subsequent tracking device (was attached) on another vehicle of the same make and model in the mall parking lot,” Toronto Police Const. Sinderela Chung said in a news release.
“The suspect was arrested at the scene and a firearm was recovered.”

Yannis Demmouche, 26, of Montreal was charged with criminal harassment, unauthorized possession of a firearm, failing to comply with a probation order and other offences.
