Halton Regional Police say the probe began in March after a group was seen to be targeting various items, including nicotine replacement gum, cosmetics and muscle creams.
On May 29, police executed five search warrants at a storage facility in Peel Region where property stolen from Shoppers Drug Mart locations was allegedly located.
In addition, property tied to tractor trailer-load thefts – which had occurred in Halton, York and Toronto – were also located with all recoveries totaling an estimated $1 million.

As a result of this seizure, $489,000 dollars in product has been returned to Shoppers Drug Mart.
Investigators have so far identified and arrested one suspect.

Pawel Hohne, of Toronto, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5000.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
