A Toronto man is facing a murder charge following an altercation this week in south Etobicoke that left another man dead.

Toronto Police announced the arrest and charge late Friday night.
According to police, officers responded to a call shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday in the Lake Shore Blvd. and Islington Ave. area.
Police say there was an altercation between a group of people outside and one man was found with injuries.

The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later died.
Investigators identified the victim as 36-year-old Jesse Christian Halvorsen of Toronto.
Police said a second man who was injured fled the area.
On Friday, cop said the suspect was located and received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Shawn Downs-Abbott, 35, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with second degree murder.
