Two people have been rushed to hospital with stab wounds following an incident near a high school in Sydney’s inner west on Thursday evening.
A 25-year-old man was treated for injuries to his face, head, neck and hand by ambulance paramedics who raced to Sydenham Rd in Marrickville just before 6pm.
A 55-year-old woman was also slashed across the throat and required immediate attention.

The pair were rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and are in a stable condition.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Newtown Police Station.
He is assisting police with their inquiries.
“All three people are known to each other,” NSW Police said.
Police have taped off the area, outside Marrickville High School, as they investigate.
It comes weeks after it was revealed NSW Police will be given greater search powers in response to a spate of stabbing attacks.
