Toronto Police say an investigation was launched in August 2023 into allegations that a man and woman trafficked a female victim back in 2013 and kept a large portion of the money earned by her.
It’s alleged online ads were created offering sexual services with the victim – ads that included sexualized pictures – and that illicit drugs were provided to the victim as part of her exploitation.
The victim was allegedly taken by the couple to meet clients for sexual services and an apartment in the area of Victoria Park and Danforth Aves. was allegedly used for the purpose of human trafficking.
Investigators subsequently identified two suspects and arrested the pair in Toronto on Wednesday.
Munawar Rajput, 51, and and Nubia Letourneau, 56, both of Toronto, face an assortment of related charges.
