Peel Regional Police Forensics officers kicked through snow and walked the perimeter of the crime scene making sure they hadn’t missed any evidence.
Residents on adjoining Stokes Rd. peered out their front windows, before answering their doors, only to say they knew nothing about the deadly shooting that unfolded just a few doors up the street around 7 p.m.
At least 12 yellow police markers dotted the roadway, a lawn and sidewalk on Stokes Rd. That lead to where the SUV ended up with it front passenger-side bumper smashed in and window blown out.
Tire tracks in the now showed the SUV veered up on snowbanks and smashed into a tree.

A neighbour, under anonymity, said police retrieved home security video from their house that shows the entire scene that occurred. But the neighbour would not divulge what was captured by the camera.
Const Const. Tyler Bell said police are not sure what the man was doing in the area and they are trying to find out if he was related to someone in the neighbourhood.

“We received reports of shots fired in that vicinity of Vivians and Stokes,” said Bell. “Officers arrived on scene a very shot time later and located a male inside of a vehicle that had been shot.”
“He was located without vital signs,” Bell added.
Police are unsure what precipitated the shooting on the cul-de-sac.
“There were preliminary reports of a vehicle fleeing the scene, but we have not confirmed whether that was a suspect vehicle,” Bell said.
Given that the shooting occurred just after dinnertime, many vehicles were in the vicinity and may have tried to flee the area when shots were fired.
